Team USA Sugar Cookies Recipe

Team USA Sugar Cookies Recipe

I like to celebrate sporting events with food. Now I’ll be honest, I think this is the first time I’ve ever paid attention to the World Cup. But my sister and her husband have been really into it and it’s rubbing off on me. And it’s a good excuse to celebrate with Team USA Sugar Cookies.

For these cookies I made a template of a shirt, printed it off, and then used a sharp knife to cut out the cookie shapes.

I made a simple icing (just powdered sugar and water) and separated it into three bowls. I left one white, colored one blue, and colored the other red. I put the icing into some ziploc baggies, snipped the corners, and iced my cookies.

The idea was to make them look like the team USA jerseys. Of course they could also be decorated to celebrate any team.

And now I’m ready to watch some soccer! Go team!

Those are cute. Seem delicate.. I have a hard time working with sugar cookie cut outs.. Mine always seem to break.. good job.

This recipe I actually don’t have a lot of problems with! Though I do tend to make my cookies a little thicker than the recipe calls for 🙂 But these stayed together no problem

I love these! How cute! Ya know, USA plays at 4pm today. We’ve got the games streaming at work. We’ve got a few reps from Germany sitting in the showroom watching the game, I work at a BMW dealership & they’re having so much fun. Hah.

Thanks, Leslie! I did make these specifically for todays game 😉
There are a few places downtown showing the game but I’ll probably just watch at home.
