Valentine’s Love Wreath

January 17, 2018 by Julie 52 Comments

Love is in the air! I’m celebrating Valentine’s Day starting with a LOVE wreath for my front door.

I’m a sucker for Valentine’s Day. Red is my favorite color. February is also my birthday month. Plus, I’m a romantic who loves a holiday that celebrates love and friendship. That means that Valentine’s Day needs a special wreath for my front door.

Valentine's Love Wreath
This Valentine’s Love wreath started with some finger knitting. Over the years this has become one of my favorite ways to make a wreath!
Then I wrapped the white finger knit rope around a wire wreath frame. The white finger knit base goes great with my red door for Valentine’s Day. It’s also a great base to change out the decorations on top for other holidays.
Valentine's Love Wreath
Once the finger knit cord is wrapped around the wreath base you can stitch up some crochet hearts. Use my free pattern to make the crochet hearts!
I tied my crochet hearts to one side of the wreath. This made them easy to add on and I can add more later if I want. Plus they will be easy to remove when Valentine’s Day is over.

The last step is to add the “Love” bunting sign across the middle. To make the bunting I cut out some rectangles out of burlap. I hot glued the rectangles across some jute rope that was long enough to tie to the wire wreath frame.

I used a sharpie to write “love” on the burlap and then I painted over it in black.

When it was dry I simply tied it on to the wreath.

I love February!
