Get Lucky this St. Patrick’s Day with an easy DIY Shamrock Clover Painting
I’m feeling green. Spring, flowers, and outdoor activities are just around the corner. I’m not a painter, but this Shamrock painting is easy enough for anyone to make! The green and gold make it perfect for St. Patrick’s Day.
Clover Painting
Lucky you, you don’t have to be an artist to paint this Shamrock Canvas! Some tape and tracing and you’ll have your own shamrock canvas in no time.
Shamrock Clover Painting Supplies
- Canvas
- Green paint in 4 multiple shades
- Metallic gold paint
- Gold glitter paint
- Paintbrushes
- Tape
Start by taping off your canvas into geometric shapes. I had 4 different shades of green paint and I taped off enough sections to be able to use each shade in 3-4 sections.
Paint the canvas, painting two coats onto each section. Let the paint dry and pull up the tape.
When the canvas is completely dry, trace a shamrock over the top of the canvas. Paint the shamrock with two coats of metallic gold paint and allow to dry. Finally go over the top with a thick coat of the glitter paint. Allow to completely dry.
My last addition to my shamrock canvas was to add felt balls to the outside of the canvas.
I used the felt balls to create a rainbow around the outside of the canvas. Attach the felt balls to the canvas using hot glue.
I can’t wait to hang up my new clover painting! You could even use the same idea for Easter using pastel shades and an Easter Egg. So many possibilities!
