From Memorial Day to the 4th of July, these Sweet and Savory Patriotic Bites perfect for your Patriotic Party!
Warmer weather means pool days, road trips, and lots of red, white, and blue. I’ve always loved early summer, the time between Memorial Day, just as school is getting out, to the 4th of July. It’s not too hot in Texas (yet) but it’s sunny and warm and perfect for summer fun.
The 4th of July in particular is becoming one of my absolute favorite holidays. Going to the parade, hanging out by the pool, and watching the fireworks. It’s friends and family, but low-key. No gifts, no expectations. Just fun, and of course food.
We love to host people at our house for lunch after the parade in our city. (Which happens to be one of the biggest 4th of July parades in Texas!) And while a BBQ is frequently the backbone of the food we serve, I love putting together finger foods for our guests as well. This year I’m showing you how to whip up some sweet and savory patriotic bites.

Of course it isn’t really a party without a good drink and a patriotic centerpiece. That’s why I teamed up with two of my favorite local bloggers to complete my 4th of July party!
Shannon from Everyday Best is clearly a genius. I mean, how fun is this Watermelon Keg?
And, best of all, she filled it with some Watermelon Sangria. Go visit her blog for the drink recipe!
And if you want a kid friendly drink to put into your watermelon keg, Shannon has a recipe for that, too.
Chastity from A Cowboys Life put together our 4th of July Centerpiece using items she got at the dollar store! Go visit her blog for all the DIY details.
Drinks, appetizers, and a centerpiece, you’re ready to host the most fun Patriotic Party.
