It’s a reservation for two, with your cat! Set the table with this MEOW DIY Pet Placemat and Meow Mix Bistro Recipes
My cats aren’t the most graceful eaters. So a mat under their food bowls is rather a necessity. But even a necessity needs to look good.
We’ve been doing lots of updates to our house since moving in. Even though we lived in this same house before (it’s where we lived before we moved downtown) we had updated a lot of our living accessories to match our apartment. And now that we are back we are finding we need to update again. That includes that cat getting a new food placemat. In our house their food is in our den/family room/office/we haven’t figured out what we are calling that room yet. The floor is brick and the walls are wood planks. We have a large rug in there that covers the majority of the floor but leaves a space around the edge of the room. A brick floor is really cool in theory, but in actuality it collects crumbs in the groves between the bricks that can be a little tricky to sweep/vacuum. So having a placemat under the food bowls helps keep the cat food tidy.
And the wood look of the placemat really matches the room that it is in.
This DIY placemat started as a pet placemat that I found at Walmart right next to the New Meow Mix Bistro Dry Cat Food. I picked up a bag of cat food and the placemat and headed home to spoil my cats. To personalize the placemat I decided to add a ‘MEOW’ to the front as well as some paw prints.
To make the MEOW I used clear contact paper and a black permanent marker.
I printed out MEOW and taped it to a piece of clear contact paper. I cut out the letters, remembering to keep the middle circle for the O. Then I used a black permanent marker to color in all the letters. I pulled up the contact paper and my placemat was now personalized for my cats! I also happened to have a paw print stamp so I added a few paw prints to the bottom of the placemat as well.
The product can be found at your local Walmart and will also be available on Walmart.com soon. For now, you can find out more about Meow Mix Bistro Recipes here.
Add the food and water bowls and it’s time to treat my cats!
Coco is clearly a fan of the culinary inspired food with real chicken or salmon. Ranger was a little more camera shy, though you can spot him in the video. He came right over once I put the camera down. I like that it’s 100% complete and balanced nutrition with all essential vitamins and minerals.
How do you make meal time special for your cat? Let me know!
