I should have known. The thing that has Littlest the most excited about starting Kindergarten in the fall is that he will get to take his lunch to school. We have all day Kindergarten here, so starting at the end of the month he and Youngest Twin will be headed to school all day. Littlest has been giving me his lunch box wish list for a few weeks now. Two of his requirements are chips and cookies.

It’s very convenient then that Albertsons is having an anniversary sale! I was able to stock up on several items I know will be making an appearance in lunch boxes throughout the school year. Lays Potato Chips for $1.99 (when you buy 4 or more) and a Gatorade 8 pk for $2.99 each. Of course lunch items aren’t the only thing on sale. I spent plenty of time grabbing items for breakfast and dinner as well.

Since it his first year to attend any type of school I thought it would be fun to send Littlest some fun notes in his lunchbox. His favorite thing right now, and for the past couple of years, has been Minecraft. While there are plenty of fun Mineraft lunch box jokes, I even have some I have used before with Youngest Twin, Littlest doesn’t read yet. So I went with something simple. Close up faces of some of his favorite Minecraft characters.

I printed them, cut them out, and then I can just sign the back with a heart and Mom.

Coming up with something fun, but not embarrassing, for the middle schooler is more of a challenge. Until I came across an idea to draw on the sandwich bag itself. I, admittedly, am not handy when it comes to drawing. But I think I pulled off a UPC symbol okay. And rather than ‘Made in the USA’ I went with ‘Made by Mom’ for my label.

Shop the HUGE Anniversary sale at Albertsons and stock up on your favorite PepsiCo brands through 8/11/2015. I’d love to hear how your family will stock up!

I LOVE these ideas! I have a kindergartener starting this year as well. What a great way to leave a little note for the pre-literate. #client
