icepocalypse

December 9, 2013 by Julie 6 Comments

Things have been a bit cold and icy here this weekend.

Thankfully we have never been without power (lots of people were) and we had plenty of food in the apartment. We played outside in the ice on Friday for awhile. On Saturday the elevators in our building didn’t work (we are over 10 floors up) so we pretty much stayed in the apartment. But Sunday they were back on and we ventured out a little bit.

There have been rolling highway closures as they try to clear off the ice.

I’ve lived where it snows a lot and had no problem driving. Inches of ice on the roads isn’t the same thing. (A friend shared this funny list of ‘10 reasons Texans hate cold weather‘.)

But being inside did give me plenty of time to cook, bake, knit and crochet. Plus watch lots of terribly cheesy Christmas movies. I even added a new item to the shop, crochet boot cuffs!

Last week I mentioned seeing my sister sing, and today I wanted to share a couple video’s.

A Christmas song

And this one is completely hilarious

This ice is CRAZY! I am over it and ready to get out of the house in a major way. Being stuck indoors for days with a bored 7 month old and a hyper shih tzu is not as fun as one might think 😉 Glad you guys haven’t lost power, we were lucky on that front, too!

Thank you! We were lucky with being able to be both safe and warm through the icy weather 🙂
