Homemade Blue Cheese Dressing

I am greatly outnumbered when it comes to boys and girls at my house. One girl (me) and four boys. My husband, two teenagers, and the five year old. And let me tell you, those boys can eat. (And eat. And eat and eat and eat.) I am always looking for easy after-school snacks, and I love that Farm Rich is having a Back Your Snack contest, and hosting demos, for that right now. Thank you inspiration city.

It is imperative that I keep the kitchen stocked and that includes a variety of after school snacks. Littlest gets out of school at 3, but Youngest Twin doesn’t get out until 4:20. Then it’s time to rush home and get homework/dinner/evening activities underway. And of course everyone is starving when they come home from school. So I’m trying something new, an after school snack that also doubles as a dinner appetizer. I’m serving Boneless BBQ Chicken Bites with Homemade Blue Cheese Dressing.

All the ingredients for the dressing conveniently fit into my pint size mason jar that I can use on my blender, saving me something extra to wash. I can add the sour cream, mayonnaise, buttermilk, and seasonings directly to the mason jar. Then I screw on the blender blade piece and blend it all together.

Pour as much as you want into your serving dish and you can keep the rest in the mason jar. You can also pour any leftover dressing back into the mason jar and keep it in the refrigerator until the next time you need it.

I always add some extra blue cheese crumbles to my serving dish to add some texture to the dip.

I grabbed some Farm Rich Boneless BBQ Chicken Bites when I was at Walmart, along with some celery sticks and the ingredients for the dressing.

The chicken bites get cooked in the oven and then tossed with the sauce that comes in the package. I love being able to add the sauce myself and controlling how much I want on my chicken.

It’s easy to put the chicken in the oven and then whip up the dressing while it’s cooking. Your dressing will be done in the time it takes to bake the chicken bites.

I also cut up some celery sticks to go along with our BBQ chicken bites and homemade blue cheese dressing. They taste great dipped as well!

Were you thinking of Gilmore Girls? “And eat some more!”
Also – you should try dipping your pizza in bleu cheese dressing. It’s amazing. You’re welcome.

I’m not a huge Blue Cheese fan, but my hubby loves it. I’ll have to give this a try as a special treat for him! Thanks for sharing at the #HomeMattersParty – hope to see you again this weekend.

This looks great! I’ve always wanted to try making my own dressing but haven’t gotten the chance to yet. I’m like the biggest boneless wing lover out there so this will be perfect. Thank you so much for sharing with us at #ThrowbackThursday we hope to see you again this week!
