Gift Wrapping with Tea Towels

You really can’t go wrong with jewelry for Christmas. Or birthdays. Or any gift giving opportunity in my book. I think it’s engrained in my personality. I remember peering through the glass displays at Dillard’s with my Grandmother when I was a little girl, eyeing all the beautiful pieces. My Grandmother adored jewelry. My Mom also loves jewelry. Clearly I was destined to love jewelry as well. Probably no coincidence then that Dillard’s is precisely where I found a stylish 3-piece Anne Klein box set that will be making an appearance under the tree this year.

Once I found the perfect Christmas gift it needed the perfect Christmas wrapping. Wrapping Christmas gifts can be so much fun, and there are so many possibilities. Knowing this gift would be for my Mom I wanted to incorporate the kids in our gift giving, and find a way for them to help with the wrapping. Not only did I manage that, but our gift wrap doubles as a second gift. Homemade holiday tea towels!

I used 100% cotton tea towels, snowflake stamps, and fabric paint. I poured out the fabric paint and then I let the kids go crazy with the snowflake stamping. We added white snowflakes to the red towel and a few different colors to the white towel.

Once the towels were stamped I made sure to let them dry completely and then I ironed them to set the fabric paint.

All that was left was to wrap up the jewelry. I love that all the pieces in this set go together so well. Wear one item, two, or all three at the same time. Personally, I love the look of stacking watches and bracelets all on one wrist. And because all the pieces are so classic they go well with your other jewelry.

To wrap the box with the tea towel: Fold two opposite corners towards each other. Then knot the two remaining corners.

Tea towel gift wrap, couldn’t be simpler!

I even tucked in a beaded candy cane ornament that the kids made as a gift topper. When you’re wrapping gifts for Moms and Grandmas it’s the little personal touches that I think really put it over the top.

Is jewelry on your shopping list or wish list? I’d love to hear what pieces you have your eye on!
