Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Popcorn Recipe

Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Popcorn Recipe

Sometimes (often) I appreciate a very simple to make, and incredibly delicious to eat, snack food.

This is no exception.

Also, inspiration comes in really unusual ways.

Tonight is the major league baseball all-star game. And we watch a lot of baseball at our house (even when our team isn’t doing so well). So I had been thinking about baseball food, specifically Cracker Jacks. And then the wheels started turning. Chocolate and peanut butter were pretty much made to go together. Add in some salt popcorn, and yum. That’s how we got to this Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Popcorn Recipe.

Step 1: Plain popped popcorn.

Step 1: Melt half a bag of peanut butter candy wafers. Put popcorn in a large paper bag, pour peanut butter candy over the top, shake to coat all the popcorn pieces.

Step 3: Spread the peanut butter covered popcorn out on a cookie sheet (I covered mine with foil). Drizzle melted dark chocolate over the top. And Eat!

I know that there have been quite a few sports/food inspired posts lately. But what can I say? Having good food to eat while watching sports is one of the best parts.

“Take me out to the (All-Star) game”
“Buy me some peanuts and cracker jacks”

For my sister a little Gilmore Girls quote to really make the point…

Rory: If I had known sports was so much about eating, I would’ve come to a lot more of these.
Lane: I know, there’s something deeply satisfying about watching other people exercise while you eat junk food.

Well, popcorn is pretty good for you! (And I made this the old fashioned way on the stove instead of microwave popcorn).

There’s a candy store in-town which makes dark chocolate popcorn my husband loves. Perhaps I will surprise him with this soon! Thanks for sharing on Hump Day Happenings : )

Give it a try! This also tasted really good with just the peanut butter chips added.
