Cross Stitch Jack o Lantern Supplies
- Faux pumpkin (hollow inside)
- Black yarn
- Yarn needle
- Drill
- Jack o Lantern template
The pumpkin I am using is not only hollow, there is an opening on one side so it’s easy to put my hand inside and stitch. When I display my pumpkin I’ll have it on a shelf with the opening facing the wall.
How to Cross Stitch a Faux Pumpkin Jack o Lantern
While this is a no carve pumpkin, there is some drilling required. (For a no carve pumpkin make this DIY Black Cat Pumpkin or make DIY Pumpkin Terrariums
Print out the jack o lantern template and tape it down to the faux pumpkin. Depending on the size of the pumpkin you can shrink or enlarge the template. (For my pumpkin I enlarged the template to be the full size of a sheet of paper.)
Drill a small hole into each corner of each black square to create the holes for the cross stitch pattern.
Once all the holes are drilled you can start stitching.
I went back and forth (from left to right and then right to left) making my stitches. The simple pattern stitches up quickly.
Pretty soon your pumpkin has a jack o lantern face!
