Crochet Bead Necklace

A beach inspired crochet bead necklace was at the top of my summer crochet to-do list. This necklace only uses chain and single crochet stitches, so it’s simple and a very quick project to make.

I used a sunny/sandy yellow yarn and an ocean blue yarn for my beach theme. I also picked up some iridescent tear drop shaped beads. This was my first time crocheting with beads and it was much simpler than I thought it might be. The most time consuming part was stringing the beads onto the yarn before beginning. Then simply slide the beads to where you are working as you want to add them. I chained 60 on the necklaces before beginning to add beads. Then I chained two stitched between each bead.

I picked some 100% wool fingerling weight yarn for this project. The yellow and blue necklaces are each double stranded. This way they can be worn together or apart. Though I prefer them together.crochet bead necklace

This is such a cool idea. My daughter is in need of jewelry to go with some outfits for a trip she’s taking to D.C.. I think we might try this.

Really cute & simple piece. I wish I had a needle and yarn to whip one up, but unfortunately I threw them all away. #AlohaFridayBlogHop
