I often tell my children that regardless of how they are treated, they are responsible for how they choose to respond.
Obviously that is true of adults as well.
It’s easy to be polite and easy going when life is going well. It is much more difficult when life is hard.
During those hard times, am I revealing the heart that I want to have?
I believe that with time and effort we can all change our hearts, if they aren’t where they should be. (Or where we want them to be.)
For me it’s something I am always working on.
