Littlest’s 5th Birthday Party

When I asked Littlest what he wanted to do for his 5th birthday party he told me play video games and eat a Minecraft cake. Simple enough. And, not surprisingly, almost exactly what the twins did for their birthday party.

We did get him some fun birthday candles. When they are lit the flame is the same color as the candle. But you can’t really see that in the pictures. It was a little hard to see in person. They would probably be much more impressive in the evening when it was darker. The package has enough candles that we can try them out again on his actual birthday. Since he’s a December baby the calendar gets a little chaotic and this past weekend was the only time near his birthday that the majority of the extended family (that lives here) was available to get together.

I made him a Minecraft Cake Block cake. He supervised the entire time. And we decorated the house in green, his favorite color. There are still green balloons everywhere. He got several new green shirts, a new video game, and some green Halo action figures. Everything he asked for and he was beaming the whole time. Love it when that happens.

Of course, having his birthday party just two days after Thanksgiving now means that there is a lot of leftover dessert at my house.

I also got to hear my very talented sister Lauren sing live recently. She sang the ever funny My Party Dress and perhaps my favorite Christmas hymn O Holy Night, among many others. But those are the two I recorded and put on my YouTube channel. Feel free to go give them a listen.
