Yarn Wrapped Earbuds

Yarn Wrapped Earbuds

I am a big believer in rewarding yourself for a job well done. Littlest loves to come home from kindergarten and show me the green smiley face he got on his behavior calendar. He’s even more excited when he gets the extra special purple star for “going above and beyond.” The twins love it when they get extra screen time for completing their chores. For myself? Chocolate is my favorite reward for a job well done.

If one of your goals has been committing (or re-committing) to a fitness routine, I’ve got an easy tutorial for you: Yarn Wrapped Earbuds. I hate pulling earbuds out of wherever I’ve stored them (my gym bag, purse, etc.) only to realize they are completely tangled. I don’t know what it is, but wrapping them with yarn seems to eliminate that problem. My guess is because the cords are thicker? Either way all you need are some earbuds, thin lightweight yarn, and a blunt needle with an eye big enough to put the yarn through.

When you start fold a small piece of yarn back and wrap around it. This is an easy way to tuck in the tail of the yarn when you start. Then just wrap, and wrap and wrap and wrap.

I started wrapped where the plug is, going towards the earbuds. When I got to where the cord splits into two I picked one side and kept wrapping to the top.

Once I got to the top I cut the yarn leaving a fairly long tail. Then I used the needle to carefully run the yarn back down the cord a short distance. Cut the yarn and move on to the other side. I started and ended that side the same way that I started and ended my previous wrapping.

As a treat to go along with my yarn wrapped earbuds I headed to Walmart and picked up a few bags of DOVE® Chocolate Fruit & Nut. Make sure to look for the special display at select Walmart locations this month.

I decided on DOVE® Dark Chocolate Strawberry & Cocoa Almond, DOVE® Roasted Almonds covered in Milk Chocolate, and DOVE® Dark Chocolate Blueberry & Vanilla Cashew. They are going to go along with the earbuds in a special reward gift for a friend.

Grab a mason jar and layer the DOVE® Chocolate Fruit & Nut along with the earbuds (which I put into a resealable plastic bag).

While it’s important to reward ourselves I think it’s also nice to reward our friends, too.

This is my special reward for a special friend. We all need someone to cheer us on, don’t we? Find more ways to reward yourself with DOVE® Chocolate Fruit & Nut.

I always give myself one treat day after a week at the gym, and DOVE® Dark Chocolate Blueberry & Vanilla Cashew sounds like a great way to finish this week off with a delicious reward! I love your yarn wrapped earbuds idea – the cords are always getting so tangled I pretty much gave up on wearing mine. This looks like a great solution! #client

This is such a cute idea! I love how you personalized those earbuds and made them bright and cheery! And I’ve wanted to try those fruits, and you may have convinced me! Thanks for the idea!
