Get Well Soon Tissue Box

September 5, 2016 by Julie Leave a Comment

Thanks to Puffs Plus Lotion for this collaboration and getting my house ready for Cold/Flu and Allergy season.

Cold and Flu season is right around the corner. Be prepared with a Get Well Soon Tissue Box. Make one for yourself and make extras to gift!

Get Well Soon Tissue Box

There is really nothing better than having a friend drop off a gift when you’re feeling under the weather. A smile, a note, knowing that someone is thinking about you and concerned for you. My mother-in-law is great at this. Homemade soups and breads are some of her specialties. Even with my own kids I want them to know that Mommy is worried about them when they are sick. So before cold and flu season hits I’m making up some crochet ‘Get Well Soon’ tissue box covers.

The top of my tissue box cover is basically a granny square. But rather than starting with a really tight circle, I started with a bigger circle so there was room to pull the tissues out. Once my granny square was large enough to cover the top of my box I continue in the same shell pattern to create a slip on tissue box cover.

When the box of tissue runs out all you have to do is slip off the cover and put it on the next box of tissue. Luckily Puffs Plus Lotion is NEW at Sam’s Club in a 10-pack, so it’s easy to have plenty of tissues on hand. Between cold and flu season, allergy season, and everyday life I always like to have a box of tissue handy. Like one in every room of my house. And a box in the car.

To really make this a Get Well tissue box cover I added a little pouch to the front. I simply crocheted a piece that was as wide as one side of my box, and tall enough that I could put a few things in it: lip balm, cough drops, tea bags, maybe even a get well note. When you’re sick it’s nice to have everything you need in the same place. You can call it your sick day survival kit.

Plus, now your tissue box is giftable! When a friend gets sick not only can you bring them some soup, but bring them a Get Well tissue box as well. They’ll appreciate all the thoughtful treats you included for them.
