Mornings together just got brighter! Start your cats day with Meow Mix Brushing Bites and some exercise using your DIY Felt Feather Cat Toy

Pets, both dogs and cats, really like my Dad. When I was in high school our family cat would start his day in the bathroom with my Dad. Our cat would follow my Dad in and then sit on the counter next to the sink until my Dad turned the water on for him. Currently my parents have a dog and a cat. Technically the cat belongs to my sister and the dog belongs to my Mom. But I bet if you go visit the dog will be hanging out with my Dad. He comes up with the most silly games with their pets and the animals love it. Seeing him interact with his pets is a good example to me to make sure I’m playing enough with my own cats. I decided to give my cats a new toy, and I made them some felt feather cat toys.

For my felt feather cat toys I needed these supplies:

  • Felt
  • Scissors
  • Embroidery thread and needle (optional)
  • Twine
  • Wooden Towels
  • Duct Tape (optional)

I started by cutting out two sizes of feathers out of felt. I tried different methods for notching the edges and played around with a few different looks.

After cutting out my feathers I used embroidery thread to create a running stitch down the center.

Once the feathers were done I tied them together with some twine and then tied the other end of the twine to a short wooden dowel.

While I was at Walmart I also saw this really fun cat tape that I picked up as well. I wrapped it around the wooden dowel.

Coco is ready to play with her new toys!

She also can’t wait to start her new dental routine. Bursting with tasty flavors your cat will love, Meow Mix Brushing Bites are crunchy treats that help keep your cats teeth clean when fed daily. They are fortified with Vitamin D and Calcium to help support strong teeth and bones. The product can be found at your local Walmart and will also be available on Walmart.com soon. For now, you can find out more about Meow Mix Brushing Bites here.
