Edible Q-tips for April Fools Day

March 24, 2017 by Julie 5 Comments

Hilarious and edible April Fools Day joke? Make my Edible Q-Tips!

I’ve decided that ‘pranks’ are the most fun when they are silly. And edible. I’ll admit that I’m not big on pranks that might result in tears. They’re just a little too harsh for me.

I’m also the Mom to three boys, including two teenagers and a 7 year old who thinks that bodily functions are hilarious. Mix all of those things together and you might be able to follow my train of thought that led me to create edible q-tips.

I do have a slight warning. While my kids all thought this edible prank was hilarious, when I told my middle sister about our treat she was basically horrified. So that’s your proceed through this post at your own risk. Especially when we get to the peanut butter.

The Q-tips were quick and easy to make, and only required two to three ingredients

Edible Q-Tips

Ingredients
Pretzel sticks
White chocolate/almond bark
Peanut butter (optional, more on this in a minute)

Directions
Melt the chocolate according to the directions on the package.
Dip the ends of your pretzel stick into the chocolate. I dipped each end twice and put them in the refrigerator between dippings.
And you have a pile of edible Q-tips!

Now, if you really want to take your edible Q-tips to the next level, you can make them look ‘used‘.

Yes, we went there. We accomplished this by dipping the end of our treats into some peanut butter. While I wouldn’t normally advocate for eating ear-wax, the combination of salty pretzels, white chocolate, and peanut butter was pretty scrumptious.

The kids were really excited to tell their grandmother’s about our edible q-tips. And while my sister had no interest in trying one my Mom did think they were funny.

Instead of using sticks use use pretzel sticks instead and cover them with white chocolate then it will be all edible
