Texas History Roadtrip

August 5, 2014 by Julie 6 Comments

And we're back! The kids and I have spent the last week road tripping with my Mom through Texas. The twins will be in 7th grade this fall and studying Texas History. What what better to do this summer than take a road trip to see some of the places they will be learning about? We started our trip in Austin. There we visited the Texas Memorial Museum and the Blanton Museum of Art. Both are … [Read more...]

{Poster} Cards for Kids

August 4, 2014 by Julie 13 Comments

I am a member of the Collective Bias Social Fabric Community. This shop has been compensated as part of a social shopper amplification for #CollectiveBias and its advertiser #KidsCards. Color-block Crochet Bag

July 29, 2014 by Julie 2 Comments

A vacation is the perfect reason to crochet a new bag. The kids and I are headed for a Texas history vacation with my Mom. We're visiting the state capital in Austin, NASA in Houston, and then relaxing with a beach day in Galveston. I based my crochet bag on the farmer's market bag pattern from Knit-O-Matic. I used a 3.75mm crochet hook for my bag. I also went a tan and lime green color block … [Read more...]

Are We There Yet

July 28, 2014 by Julie 2 Comments

Most of our trips with the kids are taken by car. And, thankfully, our kids are really good road-trippers.Our drives each day won't be too long. But since we are visiting multiple locations there will be time in the car almost every day. Plus, since we have already done one road trip this summer (it was about a 10 hour drive to Big Bend), I really want to step up my game for this trip.Of course we … [Read more...]
