The holidays are a time for eating meals with friends and family. And perhaps my favorite way to host a big dinner is to have a potluck. One of the reasons potlucks are great is because everyone can bring a dish that they love and that they are good at making. This crock pot cream cheese recipe is one that I got from my aunt because she raved about it so much. It’s made with Kraft Philadelphia cream cheese, and let me tell you, it’s worth the raving.
You start by placing the chicken in the bottom of the crock pot and then sprinkling a package of dry Italian salad dressing mix over it. Set the crock pot on low and cook for 4-6 hours.
Once the 4-6 hours has passed, melt 2 tablespoons of butter in a sauce pan and sauté a small onion and clove of garlic. Then add a can of cream of chicken soup, an 8 ounce package of Philadelphia cream cheese, and 1/2 cup of chicken broth. Stir until smooth.
Add the items from the sauce pan to the crock pot and cook for an additional hour.
My kids love Stove Top stuffing so I chose to serve my chicken with that. There are a multitude of stuffing flavors, but I went with the chicken. I picked up a box of the stuffing at Walmart when I was there getting my cream cheese.
Then pick a vegetable (or vegetables) to balance out your meal. My kids love broccoli and we eat it several times a week.

I’m really excited about hosting Thanksgiving at my house this year. We’ve got a combination of family and friends coming over, and we’re already getting our menu planning started and dividing up who is going to be bringing what dishes. If you need some main dish, appetizer, dessert, or drink idea’s for your Friendsgiving, I’ve got you covered.
