Handprint gifts are perfect for Father’s Day. I love being able to look back and see how the kids have grown over the years. This handprint heart canvas is practically fail-proof and a great way for the kids to help with the gift making.
I’m using a 12″x9″ canvas along with some tempera paint. I drew a heart shape on some sturdy scrapbook paper and cut it out. I trimmed the paper to be the same size of my canvas and taped it down. The handprints will go inside the heart shape and we can pull off the green paper when we are done.
I started with Oldest Twin, who happens to have the largest hands out of the kids. We mixed some pink paint with red for his handprints.
Next up was Youngest Twin who chose black for his handprint color.
Finally, with the smallest hands, it was time for Littlest to leave his mark on the canvas.
Once all of our handprints were done I pulled up the tape and took off the scrapbook heart. Leaving us with a nice handprint heart silhouette on our canvas! If you want you can write a note to go along the side of your heart.
