Grab the whole family and head to the 2017 DFW Auto Show for a chance to see the latest in car trends and technology. There is something for everyone!
This weekend the 2017 DFW Auto Show rolls into the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center. This has become a must attend event for my family.
I got to get a preview of the event earlier this week and I’m here to share some must-do activities and photo opps that you don’t want to miss. From ride and drives to Lego’s this auto show has something that will delight all ages.
The Lego Batmobile
I got to see this creation at the Detroit Auto Show earlier this year. I might have squealed when I realized it was also here at the DFW Auto Show. My kids were really jealous that I saw this without them. They are going to be thrilled when they realize it’s at the show. You can walk all around the Batmobile and it’s a perfect spot to stop and take a photo (or five).
Mazda has this fun race car located in their display. You can look inside the race car and see all the different equipment that they carry from the roll cage to the seat harness.
Pick Your Favorite Color
The Auto Show is a great no-pressure environment where you can compare dozens of different auto manufactures. Many displays included color option displays where you can see all the different options available. Some also had fabric and leather swatches for other interior options. I’m making bets on how long it takes my Littlest to find this green car. It’s in his favorite color. We often pass by a car that’s a similar shade as we drive home from school in the afternoon. He often tells me that when he can drive he wants a car that color. Guess we can put this one on his list!
Ride and Drives
My absolute favorite part of the Auto Show is the Ride and Drive! This year I got to drive the new Mazda Miata manual transmission. My very first car was a manual transmission and so were our next few cars. There’s just something really fun about shifting gears in a sporty little car. But don’t get me wrong, that sporty little car is completely luxurious on the inside.
Gadgets and Giveaways
Several auto manufacturers have giveaways going on in their displays. Everything from gift cards to a trip to Maui. Make sure to read all the information and enter for your chance to win great prizes.
Also check out all the fun gadgets that new cars have. Heads up displays, reclining back seats, and a personal favorite, rear vanity mirrors. My Littlest loves being able to open the doors in sit in so many of the cars.
Within Walking Distance
Check out the Pegasus, a chance for a BIG photo, and follow the cattle trail sculpture all within walking distance of the convention center.
